The Abbaye of Cluny
- Located about twenty kilometres from Leynes, the Abbey of Cluny extended its influence throughout Europe to the Holy Land.
- Founded in 910 in the Grosne Valley, the Abbey quickly became the head of 1200 monasteries and priories. A centre of religion during the Middle Ages, the Abbey, because of its particular architecture, influenced a large number of builders in Burgundy.
- Closed in 1790, then mutilated and sold, its stones were used in the stables of the stud farms of Cluny.
